Does this change my originals?: No. Your original files stay on your device. The tool only offers new compressed copies to download.
What happens with GIF and SVG files?: They are flattened to a static image for compression. If you upload an animated GIF, only the first frame will be used.
Why is compression sometimes small?: If your image is already heavily optimized, there may not be much more to save. Try switching to WEBP and lowering quality slightly.
